Duct Calc 1.1.4
Publisher's Description:
Duct Calc - DuctCalc is the easy way to compile a duct material take-off. You can input a project using sheet metal as the material, the program will do the entire math for you and calculated pounds of metal, gauge of metal required, feet of slips and drives, square foot of duct wrap and the number of hangers required to hang the duct. You've got your project bid completed and your customer says how much would it cost if we did the job with fiberglass. Just a click of the mouse and presto the program converts the duct type to fiberglass including the price, accurately.

duct calc
like everthing about the simplicity of the program with the one exception that you cannot blend forms of duct onto a single estimate - normally we have 10 ft of accoustically lined duct and the rest is just galvinizes unlined duct.

Complicated
This duck calculator is a bit complicated. It may be useful for somebody use engineering an entire building of 15 or 20 stories but for common use no! I am going to use by duckulator that I got from tran air-conditioning company which is very simple. I mean usually I can just go into a room and figure it out from there. But sometimes it gets a bit complicated but the tran duckulator works pretty good. I was looking around for something that would work on a computer. This duck calculator you have really is not for the real world. I do most of my work in the field. I was just looking for something that would work on my laptop. Anyways I'm sure it has its uses for those who want to overcomplicate such a simple task as figuring out how much air to put in a room.
Thank you very much

Weak...
Maybe must be calculate Tape, mechanical fasteners, sealant and adhesive.
Hanger screw or powder fasteners...
Fitting calculations?
One size fit all..., real work require calculation with bare, unwraped, and insulation wrap; using Duct Calc force to sepate task.

duct-calc compromise
Having used a number of sample programs in an attempt to isolate a simple program that may be used in an educational situation i find that duct calc is one of two programs that has showen promise in this area.
Duct calc was to be used in the education of training of Air conditioning apprentice/drafting personal in the application of and use of duct design manufacture and process.
However due to contractual agreements with third party suppliers i am having some difficulty in justifying addition of this software to our team system.

Measurement units
Only english imperial units are available, not much use for me as we are using metric SI units here.
Thank you

Not Bad
I found the program very easy to use. Provided good spread of useable information. Would like to know if the program can be adjusted to allow for 5' section of duct and for TDC or TDF sections? Overall not bad for a free download. THANKS

Very cool
I liked this program. It is quite handy.
However, it would be nice if it would be possible to ratchet the sheetmetal gage up a thickness or 2 also. I prefer to rely on the older Smacna standards that had thicker gage but less frequent reinforcement.
